Brown Butter Herb Salmon

A rich herbaceous brown butter perfect for your next salmon dinner!

I’m always on the hunt for new flavors when cooking salmon! Lately, I’ve been loving the tastes of brown butter in savory dishes. Brown butter is basically regular butter that’s been cooked to the point where the butter’s milk solids toast. This brings out a nutty, umami flavor that you don’t taste with regular melted butter.

Combined with fresh herbs like basil, dill and rosemary, this will take your salmon to new heights

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Coat salmon in olive oil and Cajun seasoning. Place salmon fillets on a wrack atop a lined baking sheet. Bake in oven for 13-15 minutes.

  3. During last 5 minutes of the salmon cooking time, add the butter to a pan over medium heat. Whisk butter as it melts, until the butter starts to brown. Cut lemon in half and squeeze the juice of one of the lemon halves into the butter and stir. Toss in chopped herbs and mix into butter mixture. Turn off heat.

  4. Remove salmon from oven, and place on a serving platter. Pour brown butter over all of the fillets and serve.
